Welcome to our inaugural edition of Catalyst. Amper, Politziner & Mattia is proud to be teaming with the New Jersey Technology Council to bring you this collection of stories of interest to the region's Life Sciences industry. Each edition will feature an industry-related article, a feature on a local company and an article on a current tax or accounting topic. We will bring you the thoughts of industry leaders and important current events.

We chose Catalyst as the name of this magazine, since its definition (one that precipitates a process or event) fits the role Amper plays for its clients. Our most enjoyable client relationships are those where we are an integral part of the management team – analyzing the economics and determining the tax and accounting impact of proposed licensing, development and financial deals. Over the next few editions you will get to meet Amper's Life Sciences Team and learn how our experiences help companies succeed in their growth and expansion plans.

Amper has been committed to technology companies for many years. Our association with the NJTC runs deep and wide. We were among the original founders of NJTC and have supported the organization through sponsorships, speaking and writing engagements. The development of the life sciences practice has been a natural extension of Amper's Technology Group. Similar to our technology practice, we have embarked on a path to bring us to a leadership position in the Life Sciences industry through sponsorships of key associations and events, and speaking and writing often.

We hope this magazine will promote the growth and success of the regional Life Sciences community, and provide valuable insights which will stimulate the growth and success of your company.
