Jim Agar has joined Amper, Politziner & Mattia as its New York Director of Litigation & Valuation Services. He specializes in providing forensic accounting and litigation services to attorneys and corporations involved in investigations, major commercial and financial litigation and arbitration, and bankruptcy proceedings.

Prior to joining Amper, Jim was a senior manager in both the Boston and New York offices of Deloitte & Touche. He also spent several years with Kroll, where he served as an associate director of restructuring for the Enron Creditors Recovery Corp., assisting the estate in pursuing "mega-claims" litigation against major financial institutions. Previously, while with KPMG, Jim managed a key component of the Prudential’s national settlement of a major class action lawsuit. Jim began his career as a financial statement auditor and litigation consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Jim is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified in Financial Forensics (CPA/CFF); Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA); and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and its Forensic and Valuation Services (FVS) section; the New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island state CPA societies; the Association of CFEs; and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors. Jim is an associate of the American Bar Association and a board member for both the Narragansett Council (Boy Scouts of America) and the March of Dimes Rhode Island Chapter.
