Amper, Politziner & Mattia Names New Leadership Team

Edison, NJ - Amper, Politziner & Mattia proudly announces its newly-elected leadership team.  Phil Politziner, one of the Founders of the firm and former President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), has been named Chairman.  The Firm has elected Howard Cohen as the new President and CEO and David Politziner as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Phil Politziner has been Amper's President and CEO since he co-founded the firm in 1965.  As Chairman, he will continue to remain very active in firm matters, concentrating his efforts on the firm's growth and client service areas, the Technology Group and Insurance Industry Group, mentoring Amper's future leaders and other special matters as they arise.
 
Howard Cohen, formerly Partner-in-Charge of the firm's Edison, NJ office, has been elected President and CEO. Howard has served as Managing Partner at other CPA firms over his 30 years in public accounting and has been with Amper since 1995. David Politziner, Director of Amper's Litigation and Valuation Services Group and formerly Partner-in-Charge of Amper's Bridgewater, NJ office, has been named COO. David has held numerous leadership positions with the firm, where he started in 1974.

The executive level restructuring has been completed 100% internally.  Gerard Abbattista, who started his career at Amper directly out of school over 25 years ago, will take over Cohen's position as Partner-in-Charge of the Edison office.  Jack Nahama, a partner who has been with the firm for 30 years, will fill the Bridgewater location's Partner-in-Charge position left vacant by David Politziner.

Amper's Executive Committee began developing their succession strategy three years ago as part of its Strategic Plan.  The firm's growth goals at the time signaled the need to restructure the executive leadership team in order to split responsibilities across multiple positions.  After a systematic and diligent process, the executive successors were identified and elected.
