Bivona CPA/AFE has been awarded the Accredited Financial Examiner (AFE) designation by the Society of Financial Examiners. The Society of Financial Examiners is a professional society for examiners of insurance companies, banks, savings and loans, and credit unions with a membership of over 1,600 representing 50 states, Canada, Aruba and Netherlands Antilles. SOFE is the one organization where financial examiners of insurance companies, banks, savings and loans, and credit unions come together for training and to share and exchange information on a formal and informal level.

To qualify for the AFE designation, Mr. Bivona had to successfully complete the four AFE examinations administered by the Society of Financial Examiners. The four AFE exams were:

• AFE1 - Life and Health Insurance Fundamentals
• AFE2 - Property and Liability Insurance Fundamentals
• AFE3 - Life and Health Insurance Accounting
• AFE4 - Property and Liability Insurance Accounting

In addition to passing the examinations to qualify for the AFE designation, a candidate must currently be an insurance department employee or be self-employed with a contract for services with an insurance department and have two (2) years of continuous, responsible insurance department examination experience as a financial examiner.
