Jeffrey Kelson brings 25 years of experience to his position as Partner-in-Charge of domestic tax at Amper, Politziner & Mattia. Prior to joining Amper, Jeff was a tax partner for BDO Seidman, where he provided corporate tax support for public and private clients.

As a tax advisor to companies, Jeff’s experience encompasses corporate tax compliance and planning; mergers & acquisitions; local, state and international taxation; sales and use tax issues; bankruptcy, and turnaround situations; as well as SEC issues relating to IPOs and privatization. Jeff has particular expertise with NOL studies and the technical review of S-Corporations.

His corporate tax expertise centers around companies in the manufacturing/distributing, technology and professional services industries. Among his clients were a $1 billion steel manufacturer, a $500 million linens/bedding distributor, a 600-lawyer international law firm, a large temporary staffing company, commercial real estate concerns, a large home builder, software entities, and various jewelry manufacturers.

He earned his B.B.A. degree in Accounting at The City University of New York’s Baruch College. Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, he has appeared on CNN, CNBC and Bloomberg to discuss various tax topics and has been published in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, US News & World Report and Time.
